Our Route

  1. I definitely recommend stopping in the Rep. of Georgia. Mestia is the capitol of Svaneti, in the Caucus regions is amazing with ancient towers, and the Russian border only a few kilometers away. Batumi and Kobuleti on the Black Sea and Turkish border are great if you're looking for a great beach to hang out on! There's also a fantastic group of Roma that live near the train station. They were very welcoming to my group of friends and love to display their musical abilty. There is an ancient cave city and many of the villages near the Azerbaijani or Armenian borders are extremely hospitable as well, if you like dryer climates. Tbilisi is amazing in summer... the best part of Georgia? Even if you don't stay in the most comfortable of places, you're guaranteed a hospitable host and you will be amazed just GETTING there! Rustaveli, in Tbilisi is amazing with all kinds of restaurants, from an American owned and run pizza joint decorated in license plates from all over the US, Mcdonalds, their own national fast food chains (which are AMAZING) and all kinds of small restaurants. Old City has a zoo.... one of their favorite exhibits is the racoon of all things.... I REALLY hope you take a chance and stop here!
