It's no secret that Jan is happiest with her toes in the sand and waves crashing at her feet. What has been surprising on this trip is how much Yemi loves it as well. He has really enjoyed finding shade under a palm tree, sipping on a freshly fallen coconut and reading books until the first urge to nap hits.

There few places better in the world to enjoy beach life than Koh Chang, Thailand, a small island near the border of Cambodia. Despite being the second largest island in Thailand it is the least commercial island you will find, primarily because almost the entire island is a national park. There are no McDonalds, no buildings over three stories high, and few places owned by expats. The beaches here are gorgeous and were not crowded despite the island being full to capacity. It was our paradise for five days.

Sandy Beach, which is located on the Southern tip of the island, was our favorite beach for swimming. The soft white sand and crystal clear water is something pictures don't do justice. As the beach is part of a resort, there is an entry fee of about $1.50 per person.

Our second favorite beach was a public beach next to I Do I Do Cafe and Me Ha Restaurant. We had lunch in the treehouse then swung in hammocks all afternoon.

Siem Beach was our third favorite. It was serene and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the sunset here.
